LONDON — We said we’d keep you informed and so we will.
Our homelessness charity run team of 5 brave souls has been diminished to a team of 3. One has travelled to the Middle East to avoid running 3.6 miles. The other has a brewing and rough sounding chest infection. (Or a convincing imitation there of…)
Nonetheless, unbowed and quite nervously three of us are heading out to Paternoster Square near St Paul’s to start our Crisis Square Mile run.
We are doing this at the behest of our colleague Kim who regularly does charitable work outside of the office. A few years ago she spent all of Christmas week at a homeless shelter helping out.
That’s not something that most of us would be willing to do. And yet homelessness is a problem that we are all aware of. And charities like Crisis can help address it and get many people’s lives back on course.
As an organisation we want to be involved in our communities and help with charitable events. So this evening we’re going to have a go to raise some money for this cause.
It’s meant to rain. Hopefully you won’t read about us in the papers tomorrow.
Wish us luck. And if you want to sponsor us the link is here: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/AbleandHow
