Planning my show on the Love Boat

with No Comments

14 BUS — Do you know about the Love Boat? The organisers don’t like it being called that. But the Communication Directors Forum and the HR Directors Forum take place for three days on a big boat in the middle of the ocean. (You can still come if you want. Contact them here.)

So I have two shows to do. One on how employees deliver strategy and can help pull you out of the recession. And another to a joint session of both the HR guys and the Comms Directors. I can’t remember what it’s about. Something to do with effectively implementing change. [Creating economically viable change programmes.]

My first presentation is due in… yesterday actually… and I am almost finished it.

I find it hard to do slides this far in advance. You can’t judge the audience or environment. And you can never be too sure what will happen to the material. I have a strange habit of showing up at events to find other people using my slides. Sometimes they don’t even change the artwork!

Anyway, for my journey on the Love Boat I’ll be talking about:

– the need to do fewer, bigger things, and
– how you clear the path for employees to help you succeed

Are you going? Let me know. Apparently speakers are left to wander the decks for hours at a time.

Watch it rain. And if Sonny Bono isn’t on board I’m leaving!

P.S. I am also now speaking at a two day event in Kuala Lumpur in June. And in Montreal in September. Maybe I’ll see you there? More details to follow.
