Engage Employees

with No Comments

While leaders plan and lead, it is employees who make change happen (or not). Organisations with high levels of workforce engagement are better able to implement changes rapidly, making these stick, and demonstrating resilience and agility in response to the need for continuous change.

We often find clients are confused or even sceptical about what engagement is, and what it can mean for their organisation. We have distilled the concept into a few essential principles, which we call our ‘head, hands and heart’ approach. By simplifying the language in this way, we help our clients develop a clear and shared focus on the most pressing issues, in the most cost effective way.

Here are some of the challenges we help our clients address:

Communications campaign – we help our clients to find ways of raising awareness with employees, without adding to the general ‘noise’ that people find so distracting.

Values and behaviours – how do we find ways of identifying and embedding employee values and behaviours so that they become accepted ways of working?

Organisational design – we work with our clients to identify what they can do to support HR before, during and after a re-design, so that local leadership teams and employees are properly prepared.

Training – our clients are asked to address the need for communications and change skills, but to do so in an engaging and creative way – they don’t want to rely just on traditional ‘chalk and talk’.

Celebrate success – people always say they’ll do it. We create a process to identify and celebrate individual and team successes all along. We don’t want to leave it to the end, by which time people have already moved on.

Able and How helps clients’ projects to be successful by ensuring technical implementation teams are properly supported.

We develop creative design and content for communications campaigns. We develop engagement sessions for values and behaviours. We deliver leadership and employee training courses. We capture lessons learned and successes, and turn them into iconic stories.
