A ‘change framework’ to hold together a plethora of plans

Challenge – A global mining organisation found that it had over 40 separate world-wide change programmes happening at once. It was clear that not all could succeed as the sheer complexity made it impossible for employees to understand and support all the changes.

Approach – We helped create the company’s first global change management framework.  The framework could run at a high level or in great detail, but ought to run the same way across all geographies and functions. Central planning meant that the framework could support all kind of change and allow for coordination and coherence.

Outcome – In an organisation that once said it ‘didn’t do change’ there was suddenly a broad agreement that change could and should be managed.  For employees that meant greater clarity and the ability to really understand and support change.
