<p dir="ltr">LONDON &#8212; In newspapers this week <a href="http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2012/10/21/ballmer-microsoft-windows-8-release/1636767/">Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is quoted on his &#8220;bet the company&#8221; moment</a>.  Last year, his firm, Microsoft, launched <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3RCnYHGHQM">Windows 8</a>, a new operating system, and didn&#8217;t include the company&#8217;s well understood &#8220;start&#8221; button.</p>
