In 2011, Able and How was contracted to support our client in planning and communicating a new strategy, vision and values to 14 newly acquired operating companies. While based in the Persian Gulf, the company owns businesses in 17 countries across the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

One of the main shifts taking place in the company was an increased emphasis on centralisation. Able and How was tasked with supporting the central communications team with the roll out of the changes.
In order to do this across the group, it was important to firstly create a shared understanding of the developments among leaders in the company headquarters.
To do this, a clear governance structure and decision making process was needed. Departments needed to work together to develop group wide communications. In the process, a greater sense of urgency needed to be created.
Able and How began by creating a clear communications plan and sought out systems and tools to support it. We helped build a governance structure to encourage coordination and support for a common plan. We set up regular working groups with key stakeholders in order to coordinate and plan messaging.
With a common understanding of the upcoming changes, we helped company leaders deliver Group-wide communications through a two day event attended by the groups’ top 150 leaders. The event was successfully delivered and a new phase in the business history began.
Able and How delivered a coherent framework through which group wide change communications were delivered.
The changes, including a new target operating model, were presented in a coherent and engaging manner. As a result, the newly acquired operating companies began a new era of greater cooperation and increased integration with the group.
