HYDE PARK — We are doing research in a couple of businesses at the moment, and it teaches you something about adaptability. Companies generally aren’t all that good at it.
We’re not too sure how schools of fish adapt and move so fluidly… but we do know that if those fish were replaced by company executives… they’d hit every coral reef and sunken ship that they happened on.
When so much is changing in most organisations there are a few key things that you might ensure you have in place to get you through:
1. Strategic positioning,
2. A readiness assessment and
3. An implementation plan
If you can say “check, check, check” then you’re probably in a good place. If you don’t have a clue what I am talking about, then you probably need some help.
I see executives stuck in port-holes, scraped by sand and stuffed with sea-cucumbers in your future.
